Membership
Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) offers a structured pathway to lifetime membership through three levels: Candidate, Initiate, and Up-for Membership. Members advance each semester by actively contributing to the organization and the community.
After reaching the Up-for Membership level and completing four consecutive semesters of active participation, members become eligible for lifetime membership as Initiated Members. This milestone is celebrated with an initiation dinner and the awarding of a lifetime membership pin — a symbol of their lasting commitment to BAP.
Membership Paths
Associate
Freshman or sophomore student intending to pursue a major in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems

First Semester with Beta Alpha Psi before ACCT 350, ACCT 620A (MPACC) or ACCT 520 (MST)
Candidate
Accounting Majors - currently enrolled in ACCT 350, ACCT 620A (MPACC) , or ACCT 520 (MST).​
Finance Majors - currently enrolled in FIN 303.​​​
Information Systems Majors - currently enrolled in IS 312.

OR
​
First Semester with Beta Alpha Psi after ACCT 350, ACCT 620A (MPACC) , or ACCT 520 (MST)
Initiate
Accounting Majors - completed ACCT 350, ACCT 620A (MPACC), or ACCT 520 (MST), but have not completed ACCT 352, ACCT 620B, or ACCT 633.
Finance Majors - completed Finance 303, but have not completed 5 Upper-Division Finance Courses.
Information Systems Majors - completed Information Systems 312, but have not completed Information Systems 431 and 435.
Up for Membership
Accounting Majors - completed ACCT 352, ACCT 620B, or ACCT 633.
Finance Majors - completed 5 Upper-Division Finance Courses.
Information Systems Majors - completed Information Systems 431 and 435.

All Majors – Members who attend the initiation dinner will receive a membership pin.*
Members who reach Up-for Membership status are invited to the initiation dinner at the end of the semester, provided they have completed the required points.
